Superintendent guide
SUPERINTENDENT This guide covers the daily fleet work for TSI (Technical), MSI (Marine — Marine Superintendent, never "Marine Inspector"), and ITCOM (IT / Comms) superintendents.Quick start
- Log in at pmsplanner.com with the username and password your administrator gave you.
- The sidebar shows only the vessels you are assigned to. If a vessel is missing, ask the administrator to update your Vessel Assignments.
- Pick a vessel from the sidebar — the workspace opens on the Dashboard for that vessel.
Login gate
A temporary login gate is currently active. If your account cannot log in, contact the administrator. This gate is removed when the system reaches "dumb-proof on inputs and procedures."
What you can do
| Capability | Allowed |
|---|---|
| View any vessel you are assigned to | ✅ |
| Create components, job cards, spare parts (as drafts) | ✅ |
| Upload source documents | ✅ |
| Edit your own drafts | ✅ |
| Submit drafts for approval | ✅ |
| Approve / reject drafts | ❌ (supervisor only) |
| Edit Master List / UCS Foundation | ❌ (administrator only) |
| Manage users | ❌ (administrator only) |
What you cannot do (and why)
The draft → approve workflow is non-negotiable. Superintendents create the work; supervisors and administrators approve it. This keeps an audit trail for every change to the live PMS state and prevents accidental data loss.
If you need to push a change immediately and no supervisor is online, send a message in the in-app messenger with @admin — the message is mirrored to email outside quiet hours (23:00–08:00 Sofia).
